Automotive Research and Design Center

 

Yantai Fushan Hi-Tech Industrial Zone, situated in the central part of Yantai overall urban planning area, was founded with approval of Shandong Provincial Government, with a planned area of 12 square kilometers. It is an important part of Yantai Economic and Technology Area and Yantai Hi-Tech Industrial Zone, and a scientific industrial zone open to APEC members with approval of the relative authorities of China. The development focus of Yantai Fushan Hi-Tech Industrial Zone is biological engineering, electronics and information, automotive parts, new materials, electron-mechanical industry, meanwhile encouraging businesses involved in machinery processing, fine chemicals, light industry and textile, new building materials, aquatics and foodstuffs, etc. which comply with the national industrial policy.

 

Relying on the advantages of good environment and talents in Fushan Hi-Tech Industrial Zone, the Automotive Research and Design Center will focus on the research and development of automotive control system, safety system, brake system, shock absorption and noise-control system, etc.

 

The estimated total investment is about 25 million US dollars.

 

Relying on the technology of Shanghai Automobile and Visteon Company, which have joined the Industrial Zone, the plan is to set up a platform which is in accordance with international automotive standard and capable of designing and developing automotive trim systems, aiming at independent design of automotive interior and exterior trim and cabinet systems instead of solely production. In the meantime new products will be developed in the same pace with new type car to offer technical support to Yanfeng Visteon for their module supply. The project has broad space for future development and a promising market prospect.

 

In addition to the design and development capacity, the center will also be capable of system development and integration, development and design of gasoline/diesel electronic injection system, development of automotive safety system such as ABS and lock guard, development of automotive electric system and electronic products such as electronic control modules. The Automotive Research and Design Center will promote the development of automotive industry in Fushan Hi-Tech Industrial Zone.
