Yantai GM Dongyue Base is planned to discuss with foreign parties about expanding investment in Yantai as well as the possibility of developing new energy automobile business in Yantai.

(2) Enterprise profile

The principal part of Yantai GM Dongyue Base includes SAIC GM Dongyue Automobile Co., Ltd., SAIC GM Dongyue Powertrain Co., Ltd., which were founded on Feb. 10, 2003 and June 18, 2004 with registered capital of 250 million and 550 million USD respectively. Dongyue Automobile has four finished automobile production processes of complete stamping, car body, paint and general assembly, and now it has annual production output of 600 thousand automobiles, covering Chevrolet New Sail, CNankcu, BuickEncore, Envision and other series of models. Dongyue Powertrain includes engine, gearbox, casting, forging and other production workshops and now it has annual output of 1.17 million engines, 720 thousand gearboxes, covering B/C series engine and GF6 Manumatic.

As the important finished automobile and powertrain manufacturing base of SAIC GM, Dongyue Base has extended the world-class production, management and quality system of SAIC GM on the whole to carry out resource sharing and integrated management with SAIC GM. Now it has passed ISO/TS16949:2009 Quality Control System Certification, ISO14001 Environment Management System Certification, OHSAS18001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System Certification and 3C certification, which has laid solid foundation for manufacturing high-quality products. As the leading automobile industry in Yantai and Shandong, SAIC GM Dongyue Base has played an important role in pulling associated industries, providing employment, paying taxes according to laws and enhancing manufacturing level and other aspects. It has been awarded “Top 500 enterprises of paying taxes in China”, “Top 100 enterprises of automobile parts in China”, “Top 100 enterprises in Shandong Province”, “Backbone star enterprise in Yantai” and other honors. The total amount of taxes it has paid in previous years ranked first in the province and the city, which has made great contribution to drive local economy and social development.
